On the 1st of November Professor Klaus Dilger was nominated as head and chair holder of the Institute of Welding Technology “Institut für Schweißtechnik” at the technical university Braunschweig. Due to his background and his former work at the RWTH Aachen Professor Dilger will work on welding technologies as well as cold joining technologies for example bonding or mechanical joining techniques (staking, clinching). He is the successor of well known characters like Professor Ruge and Professor Wohlfahrt. Owing to the new working fields Professor Dilger will be able to offer several joining technologies, research, apprenticeship and industrial cooperations.
